Salinas
Salt deposits in Zipaquirá, Colombia were formed around 250 million years ago, today they are part of an underground salt cathedral. Last time I visited this cathedral I suffered a claustrophobic attack. Even though I practice mindfulness daily to try to conquer my fears, this painting is a reminder that growth is not a linear process, and learning to be at peace with that, is part of the process.
Salinas is a small concrete block with gold openings. The concrete in this painting is reflective, and is activated by a camera flash. This painting reacts differently to different lighting conditions. A reminder that life and our journey is not always the same, and we all have different paths.
This 4x4 inch painting is part of my new Mini Collectibles series. An affordable way to become a new art collector!
